By becoming an International City of Peace,” writes new Liaisons between Mount Pleasant, Michigan and the association of International Cities of Peace, “we affirm our dedication to fostering a culture where peace is more than the absence of conflict—it is the presence of equity, opportunity, and compassion.” Aaron Desentz and Katy Lemorie in coordination with Mayor Wilson and the people of Mount Pleasant put forward these Practical Goals and Objectives: 1. Sustainable Land Use 2. Connected Mobility Systems 3. Focused Redevelopment 4. Exceptional Parks and Public Spaces 5. Innovative Services. Each community engaged; each citizen involved, that is the practical methodology of local/global peace.
